Your Mindset Reinforces Your Reality

I want to share an experience in the hope that it serves you.   This story ISN'T about the specifics of this situation, so don't get drawn into a conversation about Airbnb or bank accounts. It's about noticing where you are placing your mind and attention and whether that is supporting you or keeping you stuck.

I have a property I let on Airbnb. Last week I discovered that my account had been taken over and a 3rd-party had added a new bank account for payouts. So, several thousand euro which should have landed in my bank account had gone elsewhere.

It took several calls to Airbnb to even get this problem logged as a ticket. There were misunderstandings and I ended up in some loop where the Airbnb team were sending me replies about account security, then closing the ticket.   Meanwhile I was getting more and more frustrated that I couldn't get Airbnb to acknowledge what had actually happened, let alone start proceedings to rectify the situation.

A New Mindset

This morning I woke up with a completely new mindset and decided that I was not going to use my brain to reinforce this 'reality'.

That meant no more thinking about Airbnb or getting frustrated with their systems.  Instead I would use the incredible creative God given gift of my brain to focus on the outcome I did want, namely the money restored to my bank account.

So, I really haven't given much thought to this situation over the past few hours, and if I have noticed my mind thinking about it, I've done a gentle course correct 'see the money back in your bank account'.

About 10 minutes ago, I got an email from Airbnb to confirm that yes, there was unauthorized activity on my account and they are in the process of reversing those transactions. I should see the evidence in my account in about 7-10 days.

This has been going on for 8 days. The only thing I've done differently today is what I just shared with you and look how fast things turned around.

What Are You Paying Attention To?

Your mind is VERY powerful. What you pay attention to is always influencing what you are creating and experiencing. So, use your mind to focus on the outcomes you want.

I caught myself taking action in one direction, but my mind was focused in another. Notice where you're doing that, and then it's a simple course correct. No drama.

Keep redirecting, keep refocusing.

And then observe the magic that occurs after you do.
