Have you been working on yourself and your business for years and still don't feel you're reaching your potential?

Then read on, this article is for you ...

reaching-your-potential

Let’s rewind the clock 13 years….

I can’t say my business was failing. It definitely wasn’t failing. But I was in that awkward place of just doing okay but a long way from where I thought I could be.

So I wasn’t making the money that I wanted to or really that I felt I could and should be making given my knowledge and just how much time I had invested over the years learning about sales and marketing and growing a business...

Can you relate?

ARE YOU REACHING YOUR POTENTIAL?

Do you ever think, “I’ve done enough courses. I’ve read enough books. I’ve got enough certificates.”

Do you ever have that feeling where you think, “I’ve been plugging away for a long time and I just thought that one day everything would fall into place. And when is it going to happen for me?”

That was certainly how I felt.

I was asking myself why am I doing all the right things but it’s still not working out for me?

I have a theory that we all have a number, i.e. a figure that we carry around in our head as business owners.

the figure we carry around in our head

The figure I'm talking about is the figure that we would like to be making.

“If only I was making X each month I would feel satisfied. I would feel like I was accomplishing what I am able to accomplish. I feel like I was reaching my potential. I know that I would be making enough money that I could do more of the things that I want to in my life.”

At that time my number was £20,000 a month.

I had this figure in my head and I thought that if I kept doing all the things that I was doing then one day it was going to fall into place for me.

But the truth is I was wishing for it but I wasn’t actually making any definite plans to go for it..

Around this time I attended a business conference and we were asked “Why are you here and what do you want to get out of the next couple of days?”

So the mic came around to me. And you know how when this happens at conferences you give the ‘correct’ answer. The answer that you think the people want to hear. So I gave them stock answer about automating my marketing. I can’t even remember what I said.

And as I was about to pass the mic on to the next person I suddenly found myself pulling the mic back. And it was like something had taken over my body. And suddenly I heard these words coming out of me. And honestly to this day I have no idea what happened.

But I could hear myself starting to describe how frustrated I was that I had been working for years and I still didn’t feel that I was accomplishing a fraction of my potential. That I had read the books and I had done the courses and I knew a lot but things just weren’t clicking for me.

"I could hear myself starting to describe how frustrated I was ... I had read the books and I had done the courses and I knew a lot but things just weren’t clicking for me."

I was in a room full of strangers.

There were about 200 people in the room.

And here I was suddenly pouring my heart out.

But now, looking back, I can see there was a deeper frustration within me that had been there all along but just hadn’t been noticing.

And it was just that moment in time for me to acknowledge to myself as well as the 200 other people in the room (what a moment to have my lightbulb moment!) how frustrated I was.

let your frustration motivate you to reach your potential

Here’s the thing.

I was telling myself that if I kept doing all the things that I was doing then one day it was going to fall into place for me.

But the truth is I was wishing for my £20k a month but I wasn’t actually making any definite plans to go for it.

I was playing safe. I was hiding. I was keeping things small.

And up until that moment at the conference, I hadn’t even acknowledged to myself just how much this was frustrating me.

And it wasn’t until I made a decision and really committed to tripling my income that things really took off for me.

The world has changed a lot in the past 13 years and these days my goal is £200k months, not £20k months, but the steps to breaking through to higher income levels are exactly the same.

I recently recorded a free, “tell-all” training that goes through the exact steps I took to ACTUALLY get break through to £20k a month, including:

  • The critical MINDSET shift you must make to experience BIG income leaps in YOUR business
  • The ‘invisible wall’ that blocks big income LEAPS – and how to bring it crashing down!
  • The simple strategy that can help you QUADRUPLE your revenues this year – yes, really!
  • A specific action plan for generating YOUR BIG income LEAP

If you want to break out of that middling comfort zone and have your own big income leap you can get the full, no-holds-barred training here.
