You know you’re meant to do something great, right?
Maybe you know exactly what your mission is. Or, maybe you haven’t figured out just what it is quite yet.
Today I’m offering a little bit of entrepreneurial inspiration and motivation. Whether you know your mission statement or not…
Q. If you don’t step up and fulfill your mission, who will?
Each one of us comes uniquely designed with our unique talents, passion, interests and even fears, to do the work we’re meant to do on this earth.
Max Lucado said it best when he said this:
“You weren’t an accident. You weren’t mass-produced. You aren’t an assembly line product. You were deliberately, specifically gifted and lovingly positioned on the earth by the master craftsman.”
So again: Maybe you already know what the work is you were born to do, or maybe you’re still figuring it out.
Either way, I want to spur you on today to step up to the work you were born to do.
If not you, then who?
What’s your mission?
I want to share a story with you.
Recently I was speaking to a client about her mission, which is to bring love and compassion to the workplace.
I told her, “You are the one. You are the one to do this.”
As she described the challenges she’s faced over the last few years, I helped her shift her perspective to view those challenges as part of her journey. They were helping her to become even better at bringing compassion to the work place.
Even though it may not appear this way at first, challenges help you do what you’re doing even better. Challenges do not have to be obstacles. They can be something you are grateful for – something you appreciate – because they help you step up even bigger and even better.
Now, when you have a mission, it can feel scary. (I know – it’s such a big job to fulfill it!)
But you ARE the one to do it. And you do NOT have to do it alone.
Say Yes and Accept Your Mission
You need to say, “Yes,” to accepting your mission, whatever it is. You need to be willing to take the next step.
When you do, the next step will show up. Help will show up.
Just say, “Yes.”
If not you, then who?
Today on Bernadette TV: “If Not You, Then Who?”
Hello and welcome to Bernadette TV, online TV to help you be the best you can be in your business and your life. And today I have a big question for you: if not you, then who?
Do you have a sense of mission in your business or maybe you know that you’re meant to do something great but you just haven’t figured out what it is yet. Well today I’m laying down a challenge for you and I’m saying this: if you don’t step up and fulfill that mission, then who, who will do it?
You see, I truly believe that each and every one of us comes uniquely designed with our unique blend of talents, passions, interests, fears even, to do the work that we were meant to do here on earth.
Max Lucado said it best when he said this, “You weren’t an accident, you weren’t mass produced. You aren’t an assembly-line product. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on the earth by the Master Craftsman.”
So maybe you already know what the work is that you were born to do, or, maybe you’re still figuring it out. But either way I want to really spur you on today to step up and say yes to the work that you were born to do.
“If not you, then who?”
I had a conversation with a client recently that really brought this home to me. We were talking about her mission in business and she knows full well that her mission is to bring love and compassion into the workplace. And as we were talking, I heard myself saying to her, “You know, you are the one. If not you, then who?”
She described to me some challenges she’d had over the last few years and I helped her to see those challenges were all part of her journey, helping her to become even better at bringing her message of love and compassion in the workplace.
So even the challenges you experience in life, in my book, are there to help you do what it is that you were born to do even better. And, when you look at it like that, those challenges don’t have to stop you or be the obstacles that stop you moving forward, they can actually be things that you’re grateful for, that you appreciate because they’re helping you step up to even bigger and even better.
And as we talked about her mission, what often happens when you talk to someone about mission is it’s scary, it’s such a big job, and she said, “Yeah, I do feel it’s up to me.”
And I said to her this, “Yes, you are the one to do this, but that doesn’t mean that you have to do it alone.”
Joseph Campbell talks about a thousand unseen helping hands and actually in her case I got the sense there are a million unseen helping hands out there to support her with this huge mission.
So, what you need to do, and this is all you need to do, is you need to just say yes. That you will accept your mission even if you haven’t figured out what it is yet, that you will say yes to whatever it is that you were born to do and just be willing to take the next step. And just in that willingness then next step is going to show up and you will find that the help will show up too.
So yes, you are the one, but that doesn’t mean you’re going alone. Just say yes. If not you, then who?
